Building Nations

Tonkin + Taylor is set to join over 800 key industry leaders at Building Nations 2024 this month to revolutionise New Zealand’s infrastructure delivery approach for the future.

New Zealand’s strength as a small nation in an era where smallness is no longer a constraint, is our potential to be agile enough to drive significant change and set a global benchmark for smart, sustainable, and cost-effective infrastructure.

At Tonkin + Taylor we connect people with places with our rich history spanning more than 60 years. We have evolved from a small New Zealand based company into an employee owned and operated multi-disciplinary group, establishing meaningful connections to the communities and environment in which we operate.

Connections drive us, shape us and help us to see a bigger world than the one we live in. When we truly connect with the world around us, we can make a difference, we can create communities and make the places that people care about safer and more resilient. We connect to hope, strength, imagination and integrity.

We can do big things that look small, we can do small things that look big. Building Nations is a time for connection. Let’s never stop looking for opportunities, chances and ways to connect.

International Lessons in Climate Resilience

Our panel session on International Lessons in Climate Resilience will be hosted by Jack Tame, focusing on the importance of sound and structured planning and acting now rather than waiting for perfect data.

As Angelique Dickson, President of Inogen Alliance, aptly says, “Climate resilience is imperative for all of humanity. To be successful in gaining resiliency globally as well as in each impacted community, we must think globally and act locally.”

Richard Reinen-Hamill, Sector Director – Natural Hazard Resilience will also explore the challenges of adapting long-term plans to climate change: “Providing our communities, stakeholders and investors with confidence that there are clear long-term plans that can adapt to climate change is crucial. Having informed strategies for the next 100 years is the key infrastructure and community challenge we must face today.”
